About the Venue: The "Oil Can" at 850 Tipton Lane, Columbus, Indiana 47201
In 2024, the Bartholomew County Public Library acquired this National Historic Landmark and began transforming it into a hub for regional programming. This concert marks the first of its kind to be hosted in this extraordinary space.
Designed by the legendary architect Eero Saarinen and completed in 1964, this structure is a true masterpiece of modernist architecture. With its distinctive hexagonal design and soaring 192-foot central spire, the building is locally known as the “Oil Can,” making it the perfect temporary name while the Library gathers community input for its official name.
For concertgoers seeking a cultural experience, this venue offers excellent acoustics and pristine modern design, providing an unforgettable show.
