Born to a stand-up comedian and an actress, Sam Hatmaker grew up in Knoxville assuming that being on stage was simply part of life. That instinct took shape early, and by age ten she was already performing professionally in shows at Dollywood. As her path came into focus, Hatmaker set her sights on songwriting, relocating to Nashville after signing her first publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music at just sixteen. In 2019, she recorded her debut EP with Grammy Award-winning producer Nathan Chapman, marking the beginning of a career defined by thoughtful storytelling, expressive vocals, and a modern Americana sound. Her newest album, Trailer Park Traitor, further cements her self-coined “y’all-ternative” sound, pairing candid, introspective songwriting with indie textures and Southern grit.
