About this Event
Ben Livingston, Emcee, songwriter and frontman of Shigidee Shigidee, takes the Quack’s stage again as a great entertainer whose wry intelligence, emotional depth, and vivid sense of place shape songs that feel like finely crafted stories lived long before they were written.
Jake Farr stands out as a musician whose craft is grounded in serious classical training yet delivered with genuine heart and clarity. He writes songs with both thought and feeling, offering a contemplative style that trades flash for depth and rewards anyone willing to lean in and listen closely. As the host of the mighty Cactus Café Open Mic, Jake also plays a huge role in nurturing Austin’s songwriter community, giving countless artists a place to grow, be heard, and feel at home.
Keith Graves is a South Austin musician-artist whose deep well of influences and visual-arts imagination make him a true rock-soul alchemist, blending funk, grit, and storytelling into a style that feels both timeless and unmistakably his.
Dan Kaplan plays harmonica like it’s a whole symphony, deeply soulful and crafted with elements of the human condition that makes his sound instantly recognizable. His playing evokes emotion that draws listeners in before they even realize it’s happening.
Michael Prysock has that gritty, believable voice and a storyteller’s way with songs, honest, lived-in tunes you remember, and you can find him most Tuesday nights holding court as a Cactus Café regular.
Jeff Ragsdale His time in the Whitney ISP sharpened his eye for composition and nuance, and you can hear that same visual intelligence in his playing, melodies distinctly his, that unfold like brushstrokes, each note placed with an artist’s patience and a painter’s instinct for story.
SPECIAL GUEST BAND: ANTARES
Barton Springs’ loveliest band and possibly the only group in Austin proven to ignite instant oxytocin in an audience. When Antares plays, crowds spontaneously break into smiling, dancing, hugging, and occasionally floating an inch above the floor.
Featuring:
Mohammad Firoozi of Atash, bringing masterfully woven Persian, Latin, and world-soul guitar lines that feel like sunrise over your favorite lifetime.
R.P. Watson Renowned Barton Springs pan drum virtuoso. His steel pan isn’t just an instrument; it’s a portal. One note and suddenly everyone is barefoot.
Lance Harris groove master on guitar and percussion. Lance lays down a pulse that rearranges your heartbeat in the best possible way.
Ben “One Chord” Livingston on tenor-guitar-percussion. A whole rhythm section in one chord. Hypnotic, percussive, playful, like a friendly shaman tapping the floorboards until everybody levitates.
When Antares plays, joy becomes contagious, and strangers turn into dance partners.
Come for the music. Stay for the friendships. Leave with a heart two sizes bigger.
