David Gogo, a Nanaimo native with North American recognition and awards, (including two Canadian Blues awards nominations announced Jan 23), will rock the place at this fundraising concert!
He has six JUNO award nominations and was named Guitarist of the Year three times at the Maple Blues Awards, Musician of the Year at the West Coast Music Awards, and he won Blues Recording of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. He also received the Great Canadian Blues Award for his lifetime contribution to the blues in Canada, as voted by the listeners of CBC’s Saturday Night Blues.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. They are available through Eventbrite or at Laughing Oyster Bookstore (after Feb 12).
A portion of proceeds from the concert will go to Comox Valley Food Bank and the St. George's United Church's community giving fund to support area non-profits throughout the year.
St. George’s raises funds through a variety of events during the year to benefit local non-profits. This concert is the 19th in a series, Concerts for the Common Good, which the church started in 2023 to help make even more impact in the community. As of January 2026, the church donated more than $60,000 to community groups, including the Child Development Association, Comox Valley Youth Music Center, L'Arche, Habitat for Humanity, LUSH, the Transition Society, and many others.
Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable donations for the Comox Valley Foodbank, for the collection box at the door.
