Texas Archive of the Moving Image and American Genre Film Archive co-present HER DOG SATAN (1991) from independent filmmaker Scott Conn. Dive into the gritty underbelly of Austin's punk music scene.Filmed on location at the legendary Cannibal Club, a bar that booked alternative bands in the 80s. The 23 minute film features appearances by Austin-based musicians Pam Peltz (Living Pins, Toby Dammit, Minus Grace), Jeff Hoskins (Foot Patrol, Nice Strong Arm, The Flying Saucers), and Owen McMahon (Cherubs, Butthole Surfers, Joint Chiefs).
Screening alongside are rare Austin punk and horror and sci-fi shorts. These films are from the collection of the American Genre Film Archive (including Mask of Sarnath (1981), which features a soundtrack by Throbbing Gristle and Invasion of the Aluminum People (1980).
