What to expect

Join Chef Maria Elena for a 2.5-hour class all about the most famous Roman pasta sauces: Carbonara, Amatriciana, and Cacio e Pepe 🍝.

The key to great pasta is the sauce - and every little detail matters 🍅. Too little sauce, and your pasta feels dry. Too much, and the dish gets heavy. If the ingredients aren’t cooked the right way, the sauce just doesn’t hit the same. In this class, you’ll learn how to balance everything and make these three sauces the right way - simple, but powerful.

At the end, you’ll get the chance to eat some pasta with the sauces you’ve created, paired with Italian wine.

• Carbonara – made with eggs, pecorino, guanciale, and black pepper

• Amatriciana – tomato sauce with guanciale and pecorino

• Cacio e Pepe – a creamy emulsion of pecorino and black pepper

About Chef Maria Elena

Chef Maria Elena hails from the North-East of Italy, near Venice.

Growing up, she learned the art of cooking by observing her grandmother, following the tradition of passing down culinary skills through practice rather than written recipes.

She moved to the United States in 2020, just before the pandemic, and began her professional training as a chef at Eataly.

Chef Maria Elena firmly believes that the secret ingredient to great cooking is love, as the meals prepared for loved ones always turn out to be the best.

Ticket Policy

Classes are non refundable. If you can no longer make your class, you are able to modify the date/time of the booking, up to 72 hours prior to the event, or can transfer your ticket to a friend. After 72 hours, refund, exchanges or modifications are not accepted.
