About this Event
Living Prairie Museum is a unique urban nature preserve that protects endangered tall grass prairie. Join us to learn more about caring for this beautiful and unique site, and about conserving Winnipeg’s prairie legacy. We'll discuss caring for the prairie, including the challenges of a dynamic and rare ecosystem facing many threats. Less than 1% of this incredibly diverse ecosystem still remains in Manitoba. We will review some of Living Prairie Museum’s prairie restoration and plant propagation projects, including work recently supported by Nature Manitoba. We also discuss how to help build and support prairie within the city. Cost: $5 for members (non-member rate $10)
Presented by Marika Olynyk, Curator of Living Prairie Museum and Josh Pearlman, acting Education Coordinator
