Cornwall Youth Theatre Company presents...A Mid Summer Night's Dream. CYTC was established in 1984, and is widely regarded as one of the premier youth performance groups in the U.K. Since our beginning, we have worked with over 4,000 young people on over 85 touring productions resulting in over 500 performances.
In 2020, David Hunter, CYTC’s Artistic Director and Jackie Moule, Design Director were awarded the Awen Medal by the Cornish Gorsedh for their work with the company. The medal citation reads:
“They have created a crucible of Cornish creative talent. The list of past participants reads like a who’s who of the Cornish creative scene. Their work is all about shared experience, confidence, fun and harnessing the incredible energies of young people here in Cornwall.”
CYTC offers young people from 12-22 the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of theatre-based activities under the guidance of highly qualified professional practitioners. We aim to give young people the inspiration to test their own skills and gain practical experience of performing and producing touring theatre in a professional environment. We aim to encourage tolerance as well as talent and concern for the company.
CYTC specialises in touring productions to a wide range of venues across Cornwall, these include established theatre venues, schools, colleges, village halls and open-air spaces.
