Schuyler (Sky) Huck earned B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from DePauw University and Northwestern University, respectively. After receipt of his doctorate, Sky joined the faculty at the University of Tennessee’s main campus in Knoxville. For 46 years at UTK, he taught graduate-level courses, mentored advisees, wrote textbooks, and conducted research studies. Sky's success in these endeavors earned him a pair of coveted campus-wide titles: “Distinguished Professor” and “Chancellor's Teaching Scholar.”
For one 12-month period, UTK “loaned” Sky to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. There, Sky's official title was “Distinguished Visiting Professor” (with a rank equivalent to that of a full Colonel). Affiliated with the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership, Sky (a) taught highly talented cadets and (b) consulted with his faculty colleagues, all of whom were top-notch officers in the U.S. Air Force.
In all realms of Sky’s work, his goal has been to help others become better people. This is especially true with Sky's most recent book: Golden Advice From Global Icons: 135 Acclaimed Leaders And Legends Share Their Insights On How Best To Journey Through Life.
ABOUT THE BOOK
You’re a good person, no doubt. But is there room for improvement? That’s a silly question, of course, because no one is perfect. Even the best of us can widen or deepen our “goodness” in one way or another. So, here’s a more legitimate query: Would you like to *improve* the person you see in the mirror?

You undoubtedly are familiar with many of these diverse advice-giving luminaries (such as Mahatma Gandhi, Anne Frank, and Martin Luther King, Jr.) You'll come to know others (like Knud Rasmussen, Frida Kahlo, and Denis McKwege) who are revered in distant lands.
Each of the two-page mini-chapters you’ll encounter has three main ingredients: (a) a short quotation containing a golden nugget of advice for living wisely, (b) a brief biographical sketch of the advice-giver, and (c) a photo of the person described in the bio. The advice-laden quotes will stimulate your mind and heart. The bios explain why the advice-givers deserve to be called icons. And the photos will help you become visually familiar with some of the world's most admired leaders and legends.
