About this Event
Attention parents of young children. Do you ever feel like you need help?
Of course you do. Parenting is hard. But Arlington ISD’s early childhood development team is here to help. Join them for a workshop on Feb. 1. They will help you understand your children better and help you help them develop a love of learning. Arlington ISD is partnering with MHMR and Help Me Grow North Texas for this event, and they will help lead some of the sessions.
Parent and guardians of pre-K-aged children will be able to choose several sessions on the following topics:
- Understanding Regulation from “Inside Out” – Explore how emotions impact your child’s behavior using examples from the movie “Inside Out.” Learn how to help kids regulate big feelings with support and practical strategies, and discover tools to teach self-regulation for calmer, more balanced moments.
- Early Childhood Trauma – Learn about the effects of trauma on young children, how it shapes their behavior and the brain's ability to heal. Discover strategies to support resilience and create a safe, nurturing environment for your child.
- Everyday Math & Literacy at Home – Discover easy ways to build math and reading skills during daily routines. Learn fun, practical activities to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities!
- Learning Toolbox Activities – Create simple, hands-on tools to support your child’s learning at home. Walk away with ready-to-use activities for literacy, math and motor skills that make learning fun!
