This FREE Community Music Event Will Honor the Legacy of George and Peggy King.A Love Letter to the Paramount is a joyful, community-centered celebration of music, connection, and the enduring spirit of the Paramount Theatre. Told through the eyes of students discovering inspiration within the walls of the theatre itself, this original production invites audiences on a journey through songs that reflect love, friendship, home, service, and belonging.
Featuring performances by Bristol Academy of Music, JAM – Junior Appalachian Musicians, MECCA – Mountain Empire Children’s Choral Academy, and Sullins Academy, joined by renowned musicians Stephen Hamilton and Kenneth Huber, the evening brings together beloved musical selections that span generations and styles. Each piece contributes to a larger story, one that highlights the Paramount as a place where creativity is nurtured, young people find their voices, and community comes together.
Uplifting, heartfelt, and filled with familiar music, A Love Letter to the Paramount highlights the love George and Peggy King had for the theater, but is less about any one person and more about the shared experiences, relationships, and memories that make this theatre so special. Join us for an inspiring night that celebrates the Paramount’s past, present, and future, and the community that continues to bring it to life.
