About this Event
Join The Friends of Wollongong City Library for a literary lunch with Deborah Lawrie!
We hope you can join us on Friday 12 June to welcome Deborah to the Function Room on Level 9 of the Wollongong City Council administration building. Deborah is Australia's first female commercial airline pilot, and won a landmark High Court battle for gender discrimination.
Her memoir, Touching the Sky, tells her story from a young girl with a dream of flying to winning her court case. Since then, Deborah has been inducted into the Australian Aviation Hall of Fame and has become the world's longest flying female airline pilot.
Books will be available for purchase at the event. If you would like to take part in the raffle, please bring along coins or notes.
Doors will open at 11.30am.
Tickets cost $35 for Friends of the Library members, or $40 for non-members.
For any dietary requirements, please leave details while buying your ticket on Eventbrite.
