A Life in the Theatre is a two-man romp spanning several years and even more vignettes from various shows as young up-and-coming actor John is taken under the wing of the far more experienced Robert… until John finds more success than Robert within the repertory company, and with it an ever-growing annoyance at the older man’s overwrought advice.
Both laugh-out-loud funny and considered one of Mamet’s most sensitive, poignant works, A Life in the Theatre is a celebration of theatricality in all its senses – and an ode to the complications of growing into and out of new roles, both on and off the stage.
A Life in the Theatre runs January 17th through February 2nd, rated PG.
