Lady in the Lighthouse: The Catherine Gallagher Story, created and presented by singer and storyteller Cindy Campbell-Stone. Set in July 1945 in a lighthouse at the edge of a cliff at Chebucto Head, lived a woman, Catherine Gallagher. Catherine, also known as Mrs. Edward Gallagher, was known as one of the main sources for folklorist Dr. Helen Creighton. This show contains various stories from her life and eight of the forty songs that she sung for Helen.
Lady in the Lighthouse has been reviewed as being: “an example of life and times long past and soon to be forgotten if not recorded in such a way that future generations can see and experience it.” And we are excited that Dartmouth Book Exchange can host this one-of-a-kind show.
This program has limited seating, so advanced registration will be required by purchase of a $10- gift certificate to monitor our numbers. Gift certificates can be purchased in person, credit card by phone at 902-435-1207 or by etransfer at [email protected]
