đź‘‘ Kings vs. Queens: Cabernet Sauvignon vs. Chardonnay
Tuesday, December 2nd | 6:00 PM | Mary Kate’s Wine Bar
Step into the royal court of classic varietals as we explore two of the world’s most revered grapes—Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Often called the King and Queen of Wine, these noble varieties have ruled vineyards from Napa to Bordeaux, Burgundy to Sonoma, and beyond.
In this guided tasting, we’ll dive deep into what makes each grape so distinctive:
- Cabernet Sauvignon: structure, tannin, and the alchemy of oak and age. Expect conversations about phenolic ripeness, appellation character, and the science of blending.
- Chardonnay: texture, acid, and terroir expression—from cool-climate mineral precision to warm-region opulence. We’ll discuss malolactic fermentation, lees contact, and barrel influence.
You’ll taste through a thoughtfully curated flight representing diverse styles and regions, while learning how climate, soil, and winemaking techniques shape the sensory experience in your glass.
Light bites will accompany the wines, and we’ll conclude by voting to see which reigns supreme—King Cabernet or Chardonnay.
Doors open at 5:30pm. Please email us at [email protected] if you have any food allergies.
