Nationally known retreat leader and author Suzanne Farnham will share her own experience of contemplation. By reflecting on her years-long path to contemplative practice, she hopes to awaken reflections in others of how God is at work in their lives. Meet the Speaker
Suzanne Farnham is the founder of Listening Hearts Ministries, a not-for-profit incorporated ministry that provides a range of programs, publications, and services to teach the practice of spiritual discernment through prayerful listening in supportive communities. It maintains a website, listeninghearts.org, that features a host of free downloads of valuable resources—some suitable for individuals, some for groups, and some for both.
Suzanne is co-author of the Listening Hearts series of books. The most recent addition to the series is the 30th anniversary edition of Listening Hearts: Discerning Call in Community with new and updated content and a foreword by the recently retired bishop of Maryland, the Rt. Rev. Eugene Taylor Sutton. It is published in both English and Spanish.
She has spoken and led programs from coast to coast. This includes countless spiritual retreats, workshops, and leadership training programs--plus contemplative prayer weeks using a monastic schedule.
Her late husband was rector of Memorial Episcopal Church, Bolton Hill for 29 years. She has four children and 10 grandchildren. She has been a member of St. James Church, Lafayette Square, Baltimore, for the past 26 years.
