We could never entrust this tribute to anyone other than DEMOTIKA to honour the memory of the great master of Epirote music, Petros Loukas Chalkias, who left us earlier this year. His clarinet carried the voice of our mountains and the soul of Epirus itself.What makes this tribute even more moving is that it will take place in my own parish, which has a large Epirote community, where the sounds of his music will mingle with the prayers of our people. And it will be given life by young Epirots, who remind us that our traditions are not relics of the past but living gifts passed from one generation to the next.
This is not just a concert. It is a moment of memory, of love, and of renewal. It is something not to be missed.
