Jolly Holiday FAQ's
What parts are being auditioned?
Teen Ensemble & Children's Ensemble. Solos and features will be cast from these ensembles. The show changes from year to year based on our talent and makeup of the show.
My child is enrolled in MusicManiacs, Spotlight Singers, Music Theater and/or Acting. Do they need to audition?
All classes perform in the show on pieces they work on during class. If students would like to perform only the pieces they work on in class, then they do not need to audition. If students would like to be considered for the extra features and group numbers, they need to audition. Students cast in Children's Ensemble or Teen Ensemble will rehearse outside of class time and will be in more parts of the show.
How much does it cost?
For students enrolled in an Acting class, MusicManiacs or
Spotlight Singers starting in August, there is no fee to participate in the Teen or Children's Ensemble. For those that are not enrolled in a class or enroll after 9/15, there is a cost of $150 participation fee plus a $50 costume fee.
When do rehearsals begin?
Rehearsals will begin spurratically in October and more regularly in November on week nights, there maybe be a weekend rehearsal for some songs. Rehearsals will be most week nights in December with tech week beginning Dec. 14th.
Where are rehearsals?
All rehearsals will be at Lakeview until the week of December 8that which time we will move to Peoria Players Theater.
What are show dates?
We will have a school show in December and then shows Dec. 19 -21. We will have a show or final dress Thursday, Dec. 18th.
Will this conflict with other shows?
If the show rehearses November & December in the evenings, then yes, it would conflict. Students that are performing just class numbers should be fine to be in other shows as those shouldn't conflict with class times, provided they are available Tech Week in the evenings and for shows.
What do I prepare for the audition?
Please prepare 30 seconds of a song with a background track on a device. There will be no dancing at the audition. If we need to see dancing, we will do that at callbacks (if needed)
Where will cast list be posted?
We will be posting the cast list on our Facebook page the week after auditions.
How old do I need to be to audition?
7 years old, younger students may be considered on a case by case basis.
