About this Event
In this lecture, “A Japanese Art Journey and the Transformative Power of Art,” Japanese art historian and curator Meher McArthur reflects on how her encounters with Japanese art have shaped her life and worldview, drawing from her memoir A Japanese Art Journey (to be published in 2025).
Through a wide range of artistic forms—including ceramics, swords, prints, textiles, Buddhist art, folk painting, and animation—McArthur explores the ways in which art can inspire personal transformation and illuminate one’s place in the world.
This talk is intended for audiences with an interest in Japanese art as well as for those curious about the broader role of art in personal growth, cultural understanding, and self-discovery.
