CALLING ALL THEORY NERDSJoin international play specialist Marc Armitage on this part 2 course of ‘A History of Play Theory’ in Brisbane QLD in November/December 2024 (and no, you don’t need to have done the part 1 first).
The play theories we follow today all have a history and have slowly developed through a long and complicated process. Successive play theorists from a wide range of disciplines (some of which you may never have heard of) have added their contribution to our understanding of play and playing through these theoretical perspectives.
Exploring these different and historical perspectives strengthens our knowledge of current theory and Practice.
See the discussion section for more details.
========
The part 2 course, covering the perspectives of Zoology, Sociology, Anthropology, Evolutionary Biology, and the ‘Classic Play Theories’, will take place at Griffith University in Brisbane on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December 2024 (more location details soon).
The six parts of the #AHoPT are stand-alone courses so you can take them in any order you like – so don’t worry if you haven’t done part 1 yet.
