About this Event
If you've ever flipped a coin, you've practiced divination. For as long as humanity has felt uncertainty or tried to manage risk, there have been diviners there to guide them.
Journey to ancient times and explore bird augurs, Mayan temples, African Ifa, Asian I Ching, and much more. Step into the a Roma caravan and learn how tarot transitioned from parlor game to divination tool, then come all the way back to Baltimore to learn the origin story behind the Ouija Board.
Whether or not you practice divination yourself, get regular readings, or just love history, this glimpse into the past will surely show you aspects of intuition and guidance you never knew before!
Talk is led by Rissa Miller, local historian and ghost tour guide and esoterica expert. She is a third generation tarot reader and one of Bohemian House's artists via Moonflower Scythe.
All guests are welcome, but suggested for guests age 12and up. You know your child best. Appropriate for all gender identities.
Parking is available/free on-street or in any of the Ellicott City lots. Please give yourself ample time to park and walk to the location at Bohemian House, 8320 Main St, Ellicott City, MD 21043.
Restrooms are avaialble on site.
Food and drinks are not inlcuded, however, Georgia Grace is across the street with coffee, tea, and baked goods with vegetarian and gluten-free options. There are many other dining options in Ellicott City as well.
Refunds are only available until 3 days before the event. At that time, all sales are final. If you cannot attend for any reason after that time, please give your ticket to a friend.
The event would only cancel in case of severe rain or storms. Pleae check your email associated with your Eventbrite account. Event is indoors and will go on in rain, however should Howard County determine rain or storms may be hazards, we will follow all regulations about shutting down the event for safety. If that is the case, event will be rescheduled when the weather permits and you will get an EMAIL at the same email address you used to sign up for the event.
