On the 23rd March we will be heading out on a historical stroll as part of the Heart of Kent Walking Festival. We will saunter from Hollingbourne to what some people call the most beautiful castle in England, Leeds. Along the way we will learn more about the Medieval experience of people who lived and visited this area all those hundreds of years ago. We will learn stories of Pilgrims stopping off for shelter in the shadow of the downs as they make their way to the shrine of Thomas Becket in Canterbury. To an unloved Queen of England known as the She Wolf of France laying siege to the castle (and nearly getting an arrow in the eye for her trouble). This walk will not include entry to the castle but we will get some splendid views of the fortification as we make use of the footpaths that go through the grounds.📅 Date: 23rd March 2025

Punctuality: The walk starts promptly. If you're running late, contact us (our number is on your booking confirmation if booked online, or message via MeetUp).
🐕 Friendly dogs are welcome! Ensure they are leashed around livestock. Owners are always fully responsible for their dogs.
🎒 What to Bring
A. Suitable footwear (walking boots or sturdy shoes; no flip-flops)
B. Waterproof coat (and waterproof trousers, if available) for rainy days
C. Drinking water and a snack
D. Personal medication (inform us confidentially of any medical conditions)

📜 Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made at least 4 days before the event will receive a credit note valid for 90 days toward a future walk.
