Join us at The Roost on Sunday, February 23rd, as we host our friend Sebastian Sauer, founder of Freigeist Bierkultur! On this evening, Sebastian will lead a guided tasting of his beers in our Show of Hands Lounge.
Translated as “free spirit”, Freigeist was originally conceived by Sebastian to challenge the stylistic conservatism that has prevailed in much of Germany’s beer industry by reviving and updating unique, regional beer styles, many of which disappeared only a few decades ago. Freigeist has been a valuable torch-bearer for re-identifying the country’s more quirky, creative and, in particular, local brewing traditions. And, as a nomadic brewer, Sebastian has been able to collaborate with other like-minded brewers around the globe and share his world-class beers.
Tickets are $35 per guest, excluding taxes and fees. The private tasting begins at 6:00 PM. Each guest will receive six (6) 4 oz. tasters of Freigeist beer. This experience offers a rare chance to meet Sebastian, a nomadic brewer who is constantly on the move!
If you aren’t able to make it for the ticketed guided tasting–don’t fret! We’ll still be able to enjoy an a la carte selection of all the Freigeist beers by the glass at Shelter starting at 12:00PM.
