A moving drama laced with humor and heartache, A GOOD FARMER is the story of two women—a farm owner and her unlikely best friend, an undocumented Mexican immigrant—fighting to survive in a small town divided by America’s immigration battle. A GOOD FARMER is a play about love, friendship, and finding the power to face what divides us.Playwright Sharyn Rothstein first wrote this play nearly 20 years ago when she read an article about immigration in the NY Times. The play was published in 2018. And, today it is even more on point. The immigrant population in this country is hardworking and they are here to escape trouble in their homeland and to provide for their families, just like you and me. They work, pay taxes, and continue to fight for their right to be here. This play couldn't be more current.
