Washington, DC, we have missed you!

It is with great excitement that we announce an evening of open galleries, music on our rooftop terrace, a video installation, and more, at the Goethe-Institut Washington and The Corner at Whitman-Walker – both in The Liz at the corner of 14th & R, in the heart of the Logan Circle-U Street neighborhood.

At street-level in The Corner, we will present the original drawings of Berlin-based graphic novelist and illustrator Lukas Jüliger, alongside the sculpture of Baltimore-based multimedia artist Hoesy Corona. These works are presented in the framework of the project A Window to Europe: Through Literature and Art, spearheaded by the EU National Institutes of Culture (EUNIC) cluster of Washington, DC, as well as Plain Sight Gallery.

On the third floor, in the Goethe-Institut Washington, check out our bauhaus.photo exhibition, featuring photos that offer insight into the student life at the Bauhaus school in Weimar, Germany (1919-1933).

We are also excited to present the video installation Past, Present, Tense. by Berlin-based American artist Christa Joo Hyun D'Angelo, originally part of our summer streaming film series in the scope of the Shaping the Past region-wide project.

We'll have snacks and drinks, music to dance to on the terrace, information and resources on our German courses, and more! We look forward to welcoming you into our space again for the first time in many months.
