About this Event
Create your own eco-print from foraged leaves on authentic Irish linen that can be displayed as a decorative piece of art or worn as a trendy scarf!
Your journey begins at the base of Killiney Hill, a beloved public park nestled beside the quaint seaside village of Dalkey. I will guide you through the woodlands as we gather leaves, such as oak and blackberry, to be used in our printing session. After a leisurely 10 minute hike to the Obelisk at the top of the hill, take in the dazzling views of Dublin Bay - from the Poolbeg Towers to Bray Head and maybe even spot a few tree tops from the back garden of a certain U2 frontman’s humble abode!
Your foraging trip will end back at the base of the hill in the cosy and picturesque Druids Chair Pub, where I will lead you in the centuries’ old technique of eco-printing. The dye extracted from the leaves will create a one-of-a-kind design that is not only beautiful but also has a smaller environmental impact. Each piece is a reflection of the natural world and the colours and patterns found in it, making them truly special and meaningful. A superb way to spend an afternoon in Dublin and a very memorable day out!
** Children aged 9+ are welcome under the supervision of an adult.
