Learn all about film in an inclusive environment in this fun, hands-on class.
Students will learn the fundamentals of filmmaking and expand their creativity. Individual lessons in this introductory class will build on previous skills taught and by the end of the class students will be able to communicate effectively using the language of film.
Lessons include shooting and framing still photos, learning how to write stories, learning to edit in free software, developing a story, shooting and editing their own 2- to 3-minute original film.
This class is taught by L. Alan Reitano, an award-winning filmmaker, screen writer, and composer with over 3 decades of experience.
Materials list:
• Smart phone with working camera
• An internet connection
• A computer/phone for editing video
Cap Cut and Open Shot – the editing programs required for the class are free – open-source software.
• A phone tripod (not required)
