The LUITGROEP (Nederlandse Luitvereniging) & RECORDERENSEMBLE PRAETORIUS will have a concert on November 15th featuring music by composers including Dowland, Brade, Praetorius and Moritz von Hessen.The Luitgroep (Lute Group), a consort with lutes ranging from soprano to bass, theorbo, archlute and cittern, contrasts beautifully with the sonorous Ranaissance recorders, also ranging from double bass- to soprano recorders of the Praetorius ensemble. The program explores the timbre possibilities of both ensembles in 17th-century dances played in Northern Germany and Denmark.
