Experience a celestial blend of sacred music at A Festival of Sacred Music presented through the Sounds of St James Concert Series.You will be immersed in the beautiful sounds of the Cathedral Choir of St. John the Evangelist, the Case Western Reserve Early Music Singers, the Now Chorale of the Oberlin Conservatory and the Musica Sacra Chamber Choir.
Works by master composers Bach, Palestrina, Bruckner, Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Part, and many others will transport you through the diverse musical landscapes of the Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic and Contemporary eras.

Dr. Thomas Fielding is the Director of Music for the Cathedral of St John the Evangelist, and head of the Office of Worship, Diocese of Cleveland.
Organist Adam Chlebek is Musical Director of St Thomas More in Rochester, New York, former and much beloved Music Director of St James and founder of the Sounds of St. James concert series. He is now studying for his Master's in Organ Performance with Professor Nathan Laube at the Eastman School of Music in New York.
James Flood is a classical guitarist who has conducted numerous choirs, including at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore and St. Clement's in Lakewood, where he was Music Director for 12 years. James is also the founder and Director of the Westlake Music Academy.
Dr. Elena Bailey is Director of the Collegium Musicum in the Music Department of the College of Arts and Science at Case Western Reserve University and directs the Early Music Singers at CWRU. A specialist in early music, Dr. Bailey is also a founding member of Trobár, a small band of voices and instruments dedicated to bringing medieval music to modern audiences.
Matthew Brown is a composition major and organ minor at Oberlin Conservatory. Matthew founded the Now Chorale as a vehicle to encourage Oberlin composition students to compose choral music. The Now Chorale performs almost exclusively the works of current Oberlin composition students.
There will be an intermission during the program. Refreshments and complimentary reception to follow. Come meet the performers! The concert is free to attend, but freewill offerings are appreciated.
