At 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, the Saint Mark’s Choir and the Canterbury Choir will come together to lead a Festival of Advent Lessons and Carols. An annual parish favorite, the service of Lessons and Carols alternates Advent-themed lessons with beautiful and inspiring music, all in preparation for the Christmas season.Music will include choral works by Malcolm Archer, Gustav Holst, Richard Marlow, Colin Mawby, Josef Rheinberger, Natalie Sleeth, Richard Webster, and Healey Willan. Organ music will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Nicolaus Bruhns.
Admission is free. Donations will be accepted in support of the Special Music Fund at Saint Mark's. The service will also be live-streamed on our website and on our Facebook page. A reception will follow. Please join us for this wonderful event, and be sure to invite some friends!
Saint Mark's is located at 2151 Dorset Rd in Upper Arlington, across from the Tremont Center shopping center and the Upper Arlington Public Library. Parking is available on the street and in the parking lots of Tremont Center and the library.
