Join us for the Berlin launch of Paul Scraton's novel A DREAM OF WHITE HORSES (Bluemoose Books). Paul will read from the novel and be joined in conversation by Alexander Wells, essayist and Books Editor of The Berliner magazine.A DREAM OF WHITE HORSES is about journeys and friendship. Ben travels through the night from London to a Baltic island. On the way he listens to voice messages from his friend Pascal, a renowned photographer. The messages describe a series of photographs Pascal began taking at the age of fourteen of every room he ever slept in and tell the story of a family, of migration and exile, and of finding home in a fractured world.
Paul Scraton was born in the North of England and has lived in Germany since 2002. He is the co-founder of Elsewhere: A Journal of Place and The Winding Trail: Adventures Beyond the Front Door. He is the author of a number of books, including IN THE PINES (2021 Influx Press), BUILT ON SAND (2019, Influx Press) and GHOSTS ON THE SHORE (2017, Influx Press). His writing has appeared in The Guardian, Times Literary Supplement, New Statesman, Literary Hub, hidden europe, Caught by the River, The Lonely Crowd, SAND Journal, The Berliner and many others.
