About this Event

DePaul University is proud to host an enlightening discussion with Maureen O'Connell, Ph.D., esteemed author of Undoing the Knots: Five Generations of American Catholic Anti-Blackness. We invite you to join us to explore the critical themes of her work and their relevance to our community's ongoing journey towards equity and inclusion.

In her book, O'Connell addresses the complex history of American Catholic anti-Blackness through the lens of her own family's story. This engaging talk will extend the conversation, focusing on how synodality—emphasized by Pope Francis as a pathway to building cultures and communities of belonging—can play a crucial role in our collective efforts to foster a more equitable and inclusive society.

This event is open to the DePaul community.
