A Creative Afternoon: Sew Your Own Padded Laptop Sleeve

If you’ve been wanting to try your hand at sewing but didn't know where to start—or if you're just looking for a unique, practical home for your laptop—this workshop is for you.

We’re spending a few hours together to slow down, learn a new skill, and create something useful. By the end of the session, you’ll have a finished, padded sleeve that fits your device perfectly.

We’ll start with the basics of using a sewing machine, so don’t worry if you’ve never used one before. From there, we’ll walk through:

• Measuring your device for a custom fit.
• Choosing your fabrics and layering in protective padding.
• Learning the "secret" to sewing a neat, easy zipper.
• Putting it all together into a finished case you can be proud of.

The goal is for you to just show up and enjoy the process. We’ve gathered everything you’ll need:

• The Gear: Modern sewing machines and all the necessary tools.
• The Materials: A selection of nice fabrics, soft linings, zippers, and high-quality protective foam.
• The Comforts: We’ll have plenty of tea, coffee, and local treats to keep us going.

This is a small, friendly group. It’s not a formal "classroom" setting—it’s a space to ask questions, chat with others, and take your time getting the stitches right.

• Space: Limited to 4 people to make sure everyone gets enough help.

A quick note on your device: You’re welcome to bring your laptop (or tablet) along so we can measure it exactly, or just bring the dimensions with you.
