The Centre for Women is hosting a special Women’s Leadership Luncheon on Thursday, January 11 th , 2024 featuring one of the world’s leading businesswomen and America’s First Black American Billionaire, SHEILA JOHNSON.
Sheila is the co-founder of Black Entertainment Television ( BET), an American cable network designed primarily for African-American audiences. She is CEO of Salamander Resorts and the first African American woman to be an owner or partner in three professional sports franchises: the Washington Capitals, the Washington Wizards, and the Washington Mystics.
Everyone attending the luncheon will receive a copy of Sheila’s new book, "Walk Through Fire: A Memoir of Love, Loss, and Triumph." It is an inspiring story of overcoming toxic influences, discovering her true self, and at last finding happiness in her work and life.
