She has showcased her versatility in various roles across film, television, and stage. Apart from her iconic portrayal of Ella Payne, on Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne”, she has graced the big screen in movies such as “Boo: Madea’s Halloween,” “Boo 2,” “Madea’s Family Reunion,” and “Daddy’s Little Girls,” and “The PJ’s.” Her remarkable contributions to the entertainment industry were acknowledged with a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Show. Ms. Davis is an alumna of Spelman College (Class of ’88), and she is married to Kerry Patton.
