Founded in 2010 out of Sunkara's George Washington University dorm room, Jacobin magazine reaches 75,000 subscribers and over 3,000,000 readers online a month. A 2016 Vox profile calls Jacobin "the leading intellectual voice of the American left, the most vibrant and relevant socialist publication in a very long time." Sunkara is also the president of The Nation and the author of The Socialist Manifesto: The Case for Radical Politics in An Era of Extreme Inequalities.
