About this Event
How do we create and develop the shift for purpose driven ethical businesses that want to make a positive impact and better our future? Businesses with principles, led by the heart and ensuring there is joy, care and consideration in each level of the business.
Hosted by Eleanor Whyton, owner of my own conscious-led business of a Zero-Waste Refill Shop called . based in Westbourne, Bournemouth.
Through the last five years I am realising its not just about the products I sell, its the sourcing, the end of life, it’s about how I treat my staff, how I structure my systems, how I listen to my community, how I treat myself (still working on that one!), owning my mistakes and how my business impacts the community around me. Consciously moving forward into my expansion to connect and support multiple conscious-led businesses through the Eco Community Health Hub I aim to create.
Are you noticing a shift in the focus of businesses? I don’t think it’s just about money now…albeit it is important to survive but the approach to attracting our market and creating the value for money is changing.
People want to know what their money is contributing to now, not everybody…but it’s growing, and growing fast. We are waking up to the mindless, unconscious and outright toxic products or dishonest services and craving that change. People are in desperate need to find something safe, trustworthy, quality, thoughtful and has a positive impact, and not just surface level.
How do people find that? It’s through personable and relatable interactions that show people that you care and are striving for the same world they want as well. By implementing a conscious-led business does it transform your relationship and impact in a massively positive way, and how meeting the basic needs first does it then create a solid platform for everything to flourish from.
A heart-led business meets the basic needs of the business, the customer, the employers, the employees, the community and the planet.
When the basic needs are met then there is no sacrifice for profit. When basic needs are met we are not in survival mode because in survival mode, we end up being self-focused, selfish and competitive and dishonest.
When our basic needs are met, we can then turn outwards and make the world a better place, supportive of each other, caring for the community, conscious of our impacts. Each small step, person, product, community at a time, does it snowball into something big.
