A Concert of Remembrance takes on special significance as we weave together threads of history, theology, and tradition into a communal act of remembrance. We will commence with Samuel Barber’s cathartic composition of Adagio for Strings on the organ followed by the timeless and evocative Gregorian chant "Dies Irae," inviting us into deep reflection. This will be followed by a solemn reading of the names of our departed loved ones.
We conclude with our final musical offering: a
stirring and contemplative Requiem by contemporary
composer Heather Sorensen, designed to uplift and console.
