About this Event
Join us for a Concert for Community Unity - an uplifting evening of singing, conversation, food and drink in celebration of the Mixed Up Chorus's 10th birthday.
This year our two choirs, Sing for Freedom and the Mixed Up Chorus have been exploring the concept of Belonging, and will be performing music which celebrates what this means to them. Our programme represents our 'Mixed Up' ethos, bringing together beautiful music and words from around the globe including Korean folk, American country music, a Sotho wedding song and much more.
The choirs are delighted to be joined by their friend and special guest, Hamsa Mounif. Hamsa is an accomplished singer with a wide range of experience. She graduated from the conservatory in Damascus, Syria, and performs at venues across the Middle East and Europe, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, WOMAD Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Holland Festival, and the Voice 2018 in Lebanon. Her performances are unforgettable and we are thrilled she can join us for this event.
The concert will be followed by an opportunity to enjoy food and drink provided by the choir community, whilst connecting with friends old and new.
Doors open at 7.15pm.
The venue is fully accessible. Please let us know if there is anything you need to make your evening as enjoyable and safe as possible.
Tickets are free for people seeking sanctuary, including refugees and those seeking asylum. Please contact us at [email protected] to arrange.
Donations
This event is a fundraiser to support the work of who bring together people who may never otherwise meet to create and perform, and in doing so to build bonds of empathy and understanding (more information below). Our projects include marginalised groups particularly those who are displaced, seeking sanctuary, facing mental health challenges.
We are meeting increasing demands for our projects and programmes whilst also facing cuts and increased competition for grants and funding. Please help us continue and develop our valuable work. You can donate to Together Productions here. We are so grateful for your support.

brings together people who may never otherwise meet to connect, collaborate and create. We use music and the arts as a catalyst to break down barriers, reduce isolation and enhance well-being. We produce high quality artistic work that is grown through creative collaboration, participation and experimentation.
Our work includes those who are marginalised or excluded, such as displaced people and those seeking sanctuary, people facing mental health challenges, the elderly, the financially disadvantaged and socially excluded. Since 2017 our project has brought thousands of people from across the South East including displaced people and sanctuary seekers together to compose and perform new music.
We know that choirs are an incredible way to build community, improve mental health and build empathy and therefore choral singing is a big part of our work.
