The Christmas Tour of Homes is sponsored by St. Agatha’s Episcopal Church on Saturday December 7, 2024, from 10-5. Proceeds from the tour benefit the church’s Preservation Fund which is reserved for major repairs of their three historic structures on Circle Drive. You will enjoy historic and picturesque DeFuniak Springs!Homes for the tour are selected for a variety of reasons (unique architecture or history, outstanding Christmas decorations, interesting owners and/or furnishings, unique collections, ghosts…). Some sites on the tour may even require restoration with the hope of being included on a future tour when complete. Everyone enjoys hearing about the fun and foibles associated with historic restoration.
Be prepared to tour by car because not all sites are on Circle Drive. Extras that are included on the tour are restored downtown businesses as well as St. Agatha’s Church, parish house and vicarage, the First Methodist and the Presbyterian Church. Also, the Library, the museum, and the winery are included as Lagniappe.
We are pleased to have award-winning author, F. Diane Pickett's home on the tour this year. Meet her and if you bring along one of her books, she will sign it! Her latest novel, "The Tea Wasn't Always Sweet," is available as an ebook and paperback online at Amazon. Online sales of the book go to support the DeFuniak Landmarks fund at the University of West Florida. St. Agatha's will have a limited number of copies available of her first novel, "Never Isn't Long Enough" with sales going to support the Preservation Fund.
