This adaptation draws directly from Dickens’ own touring script, honoring the rhythm, humor, and ghostly vigor with which he performed A Christmas Carol for captivated audiences more than 150 years ago.The production is written and led by Meredith Covert founder of Broken Wall Theater Arts, whose longstanding dedication to immersive theater and community-rooted storytelling shapes the heart of this performance. She is joined by Evan Abrams whose depth of vocal artistry and narrative command brings a dynamic musicality to the tale. Together with two additional guest actors each lending their own vivid character work and expressive energy the ensemble transforms this timeless story into a shared act of imagination.
In this intimate setting, every whisper of Marley’s chains and every laugh from Fezziwig’s ball is meant to be felt up close. Just as Dickens once stood before small rooms of eager listeners, we gather here to honor that tradition, simple, powerful, and wonderfully human.
