Zac Mansfield began the tradition of reading A Christmas Carol in 2013, proudly carrying on a decade later. As always, the readers are donating 100% of their time so that we can donate 100% of net proceeds to a charity of our choice - in 2024: THE DENISE HOUSE in Oshawa.
RUNNING TIME: Charles Dickens' public reading version of his story is written in 5 staves. We read without an intermission, and there are carol sing breaks between staves, and before and after the reading. The reading and carols have historically had a total approximate run time of 2 hours.
WILL KIDS ENJOY? We strongly think so! Over the last decade, our readers have developed engaging, dazzling voices that give life to Dickens' characters - at times simply hilarious, and at the story's most tender moments, most moving. We might be reading a book that's generations old, but it is brought to vivid, imaginative life!
