Chicago Chorale opens its 2021-2022 season the weekend of December 11th and 12th with A Chicago Chorale Christmas: Advent and Christmas Music Spanning the Centuries. The program features everything from traditional hymns to more modern meditations on the texts of the season, including music by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Elizabeth Poston, Arvo Pärt, Stephen Paulus, Alejandro Consolacion, and Rihards Dubra, plus a world-premiere setting of Nunc dimittis by Spanish composer Javier Centeno. We'll also enjoy a selection of holiday favorites played by Axiom Brass, and an audience singalong of favorite carols. What better way, after a year and a half of shuttered concert halls, to welcome the holiday spirit!
