About this Event
Simon J. Evnine is a native of London, UK, but now lives in Miami, Florida, where he teaches philosophy at the University of Miami. He works in metaphysics, social ontology, and the philosophy of literature and language.
His recent book A Certain Gesture: Evnine’s Batman Meme Project and Its Parerga! is an experimental, cross-genre work that seeks to infuse a personal element into work on philosophy, psychoanalysis, language, and Judaism.
At this event Simon will introduce and display images from his newest book, A Certain Gesture: Evnine’s Batman Meme Project and Its Parerga!, and read selected passages from it. There will also be the opportunity to learn something about his previous work, about what makes us people, and what makes objects and events. Discussion with attendees plus a book signing opportunity will follow.
