About this Event
Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, written for treble voices and harp, is one of the composer’s most beloved and widely-performed works. Largely based on medieval carols, it is a beautiful and dynamic showcase both for choirs and the harp, demonstrating the full range of the instrument. Join six of Adelaide’s finest singers and Cianah Harris, an accomplished harpist, for this wonderfully intimate performance of Britten’s work in the stunning, world-famous Mortlock Chamber.
The performance will also feature Britten’s arrangement of Corpus Christi Carol and a beautiful setting of the haunting Coventry Carol by Michael McGlynn. A highlight of the concert will be South Australian composer Jodie O’Regan’s piece, Daughters of Rachel, revoiced for upper voices.
