Description: In this hands-on class, participants will design and hand-build a unique egg-shaped ceramic plate using traditional slab-building techniques. Participants will learn how to roll and refine clay slabs, cut organic forms, and gently shape edges to create a functional yet sculptural plate. The class covers basic joining and smoothing methods, tips for maintaining even thickness, and strategies to prevent warping during drying.
Finished pieces will be prepared for firing, and glazing options will be offered. your pieces will be completed and ready for pick up 14 business days after the class. This project is suitable for beginners as well as those with some ceramic experience who want to strengthen their hand-building skills while creating a playful, functional form.
