A Century of Sisterhood on S Street - Building for Tomorrows

The Rho Theta House on S Street opened in September 1925*. We are celebrating this centennial with a weekend of events October 3-5, 2025 during UNL Homecoming!

Celebrations planned include an Opening Reception on Friday at Hopcat, a restaurant/bar located in Haymarket area, Saturday a House Reception and Tours and optional Sunday Brunch at The Graduate Hotel. Please refer to the daily agendas below.

We have a reserved a room block at The Graduate Hotel (Hilton) located in downtown Haymarket area. Please use this link to make your reservations Kappa Alpha Theta Alumni Room Block Booking Link.

We ask you RSVP for Friday night and Saturday House events for planning purposes (see below under Agenda).

We will also have a ticket exchange for those needing football game tickets, more info in future emails.

*Rho Chapter History:

Rho Chapter was the first sorority house planned and built on the University of Nebraska campus as a permanent residence to promote women's participation in a college education. Designed by Ellery Davis, Sr. at a cost of $52,000, the house opened on September 2, 1925 as a residence for 36 Kappa Alpha Theta members and one house chaperone.

Info: Meet your Theta sisters for an Opening Reception Friday night at the Hopcat located in the Haymarket area at 601 P Street. Join us for a fun night filled with reunions of alumnae and class and decade competitions for most attendees! Hors d'oeuvres will be served with cash bar. Hopcat requests only 21+ attendees. Hopcat is within walking distance of The Graduate Hotel and many paid parking garages.

Info: Join us for a game day reception hosted by the current Kappa Alpha Theta actives at the 100 year old house on S Street. Talk with the House Corporation Board members on current and future house renovations. Learn from the Campaign Committee on campaign efforts and how you may help. *Depending on game start, the reception will be held before or after the game. We will post Saturday times when we know more about game time.
