WHERE: Doodad Farm, 4701 Land Road, Greensboro, NC 27406
WHEN: 3PM to 8pm, Sunday, June 23, 2024 (Rain date June 30)
COST: Requested donation of $20 per adult at the gate. No one will be denied entry.
Every Spring Doodad Farm hosts a tribute/fundraiser event to help out a local non-profit. We started this tradition in 2015 as we celebrated John Prine. Eight years later, we're revisiting the songs of John Prine for a couple of reasons. First, that 2015 tribute was one of our best days here at the farm, with lots of great folks showing up to cheer on our musicians (let's face it; John Prine fans are great people). Second, since we lost John Prine to Covid-19 in 2020, we felt like he deserved a Doodad Farm sendoff. So we're back with another dose of his timeless songs.
This year we're donating every donated dollar to The Arc of High Point, a local group that is committed to securing for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work, and play.
EVERYONE is welcome, as always, to enjoy this event. Feel free to bring chairs, coolers, picnics, and friendly pets. We'll also have a FOOD TRUCK for your dining pleasure. Plenty of games and activities for kids and adults as well.
We're asking for a $20 suggested cash donation per adult as you enter the event space, every cent of which goes to The Arc of High Point. This 100% policy is possible because all of our generous performers are volunteers, as well as all of our helpers. No guests will be turned away if they can't afford entry, but we hope that everyone will contribute according to their ability to support The Arc of High Point's important work.
We'll have plenty of locally made arts and crafts vendors, all of whom donate a portion of their sales to The Arc of High Point.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: First, spread the word about this unique event through social media and word of mouth. Second, if you'd like to volunteer to help prepare for this show, or want to help during the event, we'd appreciate your assistance. Third, if you'd like to volunteer to help The Arc of High Point or wish to make your own direct donation, go to arcofhp.org to learn more.
