Join Linda Casey to explore the great women artists in the 20th Century.About this Event
In 1971, Linda Nochlin, American Art Historian asked the question, ‘Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists?’
Women have been involved in making art for centuries and many female artists have been forgotten or struggled to be recognised in the traditional narrative of the Western Canon of Art.
Linda Casey, Art Lecture, will explore how women have been represented, misrepresented and how they have challenged that landscape particularly since the beginning of the 20th Century. She will bring many of the GREAT women artists out of the shadows revealing their greatness.
