🍂📖 🇺🇸 Join us on Tuesday, November 18 at 5 PM in Kornel i Przyjaciele with Chapter&Verse BOOK LAB to explore George Saunders's short story “Puppy” and discuss what exactly is revealed to whom when a mother takes her children with her to buy a puppy advertised for sale. George Saunders is a big name in contemporary American literature, author of short stories, novels, essays, a recipient of many awards, including the Man Booker Prize for the novel Lincoln in the Bardo. He is appreciated for his masterful short forms, his enviable handling of perspective and character, for his uncompromising, satirical take on contemporary life, and more. His fictions are poignant, often both funny and grave, often heartbreaking.
Many of Saunders's works have been translated into Polish. This Book Lab is an invitation for you to read one of his stories in the original, to dive into its world and discuss it with fellow readers in a friendly, unhurried setting. "Puppy" is Saunders at his best, rich, deep, supremely thought-provoking.
